You were never broken, only waiting to be seen in your own light.

INDIVIDUAL PSYCHOTHERAPY

One-on-one virtual therapy for adults across Ontario.

You've Been Carrying This Alone Long Enough

You’ve managed on your own for a while. Getting through the day, showing up for the people who need you, telling yourself it isn’t bad enough to do anything about. At some point, though, managing stops being the same thing as being okay.
Whatever brought you here, you don’t have to keep coping on your own. Therapy for individuals at Luceris makes room for what you’ve been carrying, including the parts you haven’t said out loud.

How Individual Psychotherapy Works at Luceris

Individual psychotherapy at Luceris is one-on-one between you and your therapist, held entirely online. You’ll meet by secure video or phone, from wherever you are in Ontario.
Your therapist draws on a range of evidence-based approaches and adapts them to what you need, which can change as the work goes on. Early sessions focus on understanding your history, what’s happening now, and what you want to change. From there, you and your therapist decide together where to go and how quickly.

Modalities That May Be Integrated

Therapy for individuals at Luceris draws from a range of clinical approaches. Your therapist may integrate several, depending on what fits you.

The struggles listed here are only examples; what brings you to therapy may not have a name yet, and it doesn’t need one to be worth attention. You don’t have to be in crisis, and you don’t need to know exactly what you’re looking for. If you’re not sure where to start, reach out by phone or email. Every story deserves a beginning, and every beginning deserves a light to guide it.
Cognitive & Behavioural Models

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

You’ll learn to recognize and shift the thought patterns and behaviours feeding anxiety, depression, and avoidance. It’s structured and goal-oriented, with practical tools you can use between sessions.

Metacognitive Therapy

Worry and rumination lose their grip when you change how you relate to your thinking, rather than trying to argue with the thoughts themselves. This is particularly effective for anxiety and depression.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

You’ll build the flexibility to act on what matters to you, even when difficult thoughts and feelings are present. This is especially helpful for chronic avoidance, emotional rigidity, or existential anxiety.

Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy

Learning to respond differently to your own inner experience is one of the more reliable ways to keep depression from returning. This approach combines mindfulness with cognitive strategies.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy

You’ll develop concrete skills for managing emotional intensity, tolerating distress, and navigating conflict in your relationships.

Cognitive Processing Therapy

You’ll work through traumatic memories and the beliefs that formed around them, the ones interfering with daily life, relationships, and how you see yourself. This includes identifying and challenging the points where you get stuck.

Internal Family Systems-Informed Parts Work

You’ll come to understand and heal the inner “parts” shaped by trauma, fear, or shame, moving toward a renewed sense of wholeness. This is depth-oriented work, centred on learning to lead yourself with compassion.

Schema Therapy

Some emotional patterns feel entrenched because they are, often tracing back to needs that went unmet in childhood. This work addresses them directly, integrating cognitive, attachment, and experiential strategies.

Compassion-Focused Therapy

You’ll learn to soften harsh self-criticism and loosen the grip of shame, particularly if you carry trauma or perfectionistic tendencies. It works by strengthening your capacity to extend warmth inward.

Narrative Therapy

You’ll reauthor the limiting stories you’ve been telling about yourself into ones that recognize your own agency and resilience.

Existential Therapy

Questions of mortality, freedom, responsibility, and purpose tend to surface during major transitions or crises of identity. This approach engages them directly rather than steering around them.

How Online Sessions Work

Booking your first appointment.

You can start with a free 15-minute consultation. It's a short call to talk about what's bringing you to therapy, ask questions, and get a sense of whether this feels right, with no obligation to book further. If you decide to continue, you'll be set up with access to our secure client portal, where you can view and manage your appointments.

Joining a session.

Sessions run through the Jane app, a Canadian platform built for healthcare providers. You'll receive a secure link, so there's nothing to download and no separate account to create. All you need is a device with a camera and microphone, a stable internet connection, and somewhere private to talk. Phone sessions are available if video isn't the right fit.

Your first full session.

This session gives your therapist a chance to understand the bigger picture: your current concerns, history, relationships, work or school, family, and any past experience with therapy. You don't need to arrive with answers. You'll spend part of this session working out what you want from the process, which is often harder to name than people expect.

Sessions are 50 minutes, with evening and weekend appointments available. Because Luceris is fully virtual, you can meet from anywhere in Ontario, without a commute or a waiting room.

Common Questions About Individual Psychotherapy

Is virtual therapy as effective as in-person?
What makes therapy work is the relationship you build with your therapist, and that forms just as readily over video as it does in a room. Many people also find the online format easier to stick with, since there’s no commute and fewer reasons to reschedule.
Yes. Luceris is a fully virtual clinic serving clients across the province, with evening and weekend appointments available.
Your therapist will ask about your current concerns, your history, and what you’re hoping to change. It’s a conversation, and it moves at a pace that feels manageable. By the end, you’ll have started shaping the goals that guide the work going forward.
If what you’re working through is primarily personal, individual therapy is a natural starting point. If the concern centres on your relationship or your family, couples therapy or parenting support may be a better fit. If you’re not sure, the free consultation is a good place to sort it out.
Individual sessions are $180 for 50 minutes. Many extended health benefit plans in Ontario include coverage for psychotherapy, though details vary by provider and plan. We recommend confirming directly with your insurer, and we provide receipts you can submit for reimbursement.
